Our
shop is situated just outside the centre of Salisbury, thereby
allowing access even when the rest of the town is clogged with
traffic. With Salt Lane car park virtually opposite, and College Street car park a short walk away there
is plenty of car parking within easy reach.

If driving your car does not appeal though we offer a free
delivery service to anywhere in the local area. That area
includes Harnham, Wilton, the Woodford Valley, Coombe Bisset,
the Chalke Valley, Downton - basically anywhere within a 10 to 12 mile
radius of Salisbury.
If your delivery is outside this distance please contact us for a quotation.
We are always happy to accept telephone and email orders but we will also need your full name and address if you are not ordering in person.
We understand that many people feel trapped in their own
home by illness or bad weather stopping them from going out.
We offer you much more than just an impersonal delivery “box
drop and go”. It is rare for us not to stop for a chat
and a cup of tea, and while we are at your house we are happy
to carry out small tasks if these would be of help. Recently
I have assembled a new standard lamp, changed a lightbulb
and of course taken mail to the post box. It is this friendly,
personal and helpful service that gives you the confidence
to trust us and use us.
We try hard to differ from the pile it high, sell it cheap
service offered by the supermarkets. While we accept that
our baked beans are a bit more expensive, isn’t it time
you were recognised and greeted like a real person again,
rather than a number only identified by your loyalty card?
To us, loyalty is earned by good service and helpful, friendly
staff, not by a piece of plastic on your keyring.
Our range of food and drink is constantly evolving with new
products arriving on a regular basis. We listen to our
customers and tailor our offering around your needs. For example
a gentleman had moved to Salisbury and was down to his last
helping of his favourite Alnwick Rum. Within a week of asking
we had spoken to the producer and had received our first delivery
from them, becoming the only distributor in the South in the
process. But your request need not be as unusual as Northumbrian
Rum - it could simply be that you are unable to find your
favourite cheese. If we do not already sell what you are looking
for them please ask us - we would rather have the chance in finding your product than you going away disappointed.
Our range of services also extents to refilling
Ecover detergents - Laundry Liquid, Washing - up liquid (vegan and vegetarian), Fabric Conditioner and Multi-surface Cleaner. By refilling your empty bottles you are
not only saving them from going to land fill but you are also
saving money. We can refill your empty while you wait or you
can leave it with us and collect it later.
Did you know we sell stamps? Why queue in the main post office
when you can easily pop in and buy your stamps from us. In
addition we can top-up your mobile phone, accept credit and
debit cards in payment (over £1.00) and also give up to
£50.00 cashback with your shopping. We do not charge for offering cashback and you can receive any amount you choose up to the £50.00 limit.
Many people in the media claim that small independents are
dead. They say that soon there will be no choice left on the
high street, just a mass of names that can be found in every
town, no individuality, no choice, none of that convenience
and service that comes from a shop that really cares about
its customers. Now is the time to show that you care about
such issues - rather than bemoaning that fact that small shops
are disappearing start to use those that are still here. We
are lucky in Salisbury to have excellent butchers - the pork
I bought from Harrison’s in Park Street last week was
reared in the Woodford valley and tasted fantastic, Derek Small in Winchester Street is always happy to help with audio-visual needs and Joff and Annie at Bird and Carter Delicatessen pick up where we leave off. These are
just 3 examples off the top of my head - these shops, like
Abbey Stores, are here now but may not be for much longer
unless you use them. Each of the examples about are doing
their best to serve your needs - now give them a chance and
let’s see if we can reverse the decline of the High
Street.
