With just a few days notice we can supply you with real ale to drink at home.
The beer comes in two "versions" bright beer and sedimented. Sedimented beer will be slightly cheaper but since it is much more difficult to use I recommend you purchase bright beer - that is beer that has been allowed to drop and condition in the brewery before it is released. The shelf life is shorter but you do not have to worry about standing the container or knocking it and all the beer can be enjoyed.
Please note that polypins and piggins are supplied in disposable bag-in-boxes but firkins are in a returnable metal cask for which a deposit must be paid. If buying a firkin you should also budget £5.00 on top for a wooden tap and the hire of chocks and a mallet, and a returnable deposit of £20.00 for the cask.
We normally need 3-5 days notice so that we can advise the brewery of your requirements. This way you received the beer in the best possible condition.
Once opened bright beer will keep for 3-4 days at the most and should always be kept cool. Unopened it has a shelf life of 7-10 days but again it must be kept cool.
If you purchase beer from us we can advise you of storage requirements and we will always order the beer as late as possible from the brewery so that you have the freshest product possible. |
