After every outside bar or event all empty bottles are taken to the recycling bank, any screw caps are seperated and also recycled. Any cardboard boxes or trays used at events or in the shop are collected by Salisbury District Council's salvage scheme.

When sending online orderswe use recycled packaging where possible - this is packaging that has been sent to us by other suppliers which we then re-use for our own goods. We obviously take great care to pack things well to survive the worst Royal Mail or our couriers can throw at your parcel.
The shop lighting is predominately GU10 240V halogen downlights, but where possible we have changed the incandescent units to LED. These run much cooler, thereby making the shop cooler, which in turn means the fridges have less work to do and therefore save energy. The LEDs are also much more efficient.
All main shop lighting is turned off at the end of the day, and only turned back on at the start of the next trading day. During the summer, when the ambient light levels are high enough, we will often turn off the main shop lights.
Our soft drinks, wine and beer fridges all switch off overnight and at weekends, and the termostats are set to a level so that the product is cool enough to be enjoyed but not over chilled. This saves us running the fridges when there is no need for them to be on. Obviously food fridges are unaffected by this scheme.
Penny's beautful, hand built Longstaff tricycle doubles as our local delivery vehicle. When possible, the tricycle is used in preference to a car or van for local collections or deliveries.
